A New Years Note From Natasha

9
Happy new year one and all!!!
Its the last year of this decade. Woohoo!!
Some of u probably caught me on the Dick Clark Rocking New Years Eve show. I love that show.
It definitely helps with the big count down.

I'm in New Zealand now. I'm here for a couple of weeks to do a bit of writing. It is such an inspiring place to write music. I love coming here as often as I can, usually once a year to fuel up on ideas for my next album.
All of my family is here. Although I was born and brought up in the UK (the reason I have a London accent), I have always felt a deep sense of belonging in New Zealand.
This is the reason I have ended up calling myself a briwi - a British kiwi.
London was always my home and I love it so much but New Zealand is my country of origin and when I'm here if feels like I get in touch with a deeper part of myself.
I like to stick my bare feet in the sand and let the ocean breeze mess up my hair. I love to go fishing with my grandad, to find out secret recipies from my two nana's, discuss life and spirituality with my other grandad. Just to be still and breath in the spectacular nature moving and alive all around.

The is no place like London either don't get me wrong. I've actually been quite intensely home sick for it in recent months. I love the innate fashion sense I see in so many people, how something is always happening. British humour, rich with its dark sarcastic comedy is something I drink in while away. Little Britain and the original office are my life lines. The long history of genius rock bands and more recently funky songwriting female singers that the UK produces have really been influencing overseas for good reason. Its been nice to discover while in the USA during this bunch of album promo that lots of people here really appreciate these things too.

I find myself this new years feeling nostalgic, grateful, hesitant for the unknown, yet hopeful, and now because of the holiday break washing off the weariness that we all feel at the years end; I am starting to feel up for new adventures. I like that feeling. Its a fresh new year. There's no knowing how it will turn out. Whether there's ups or downs I intend to ride it out like the valiant little canoe in the waves I'm looking out at right now from my house.

Happy holidays!
Whether its sunny or cloudy right now around you, I wish u peace of mind, grace, and hope because its a new year; a fresh start.

Natasha

Is anybody reading these things...
Since when it has became so difficult to speak to a human been.
Someone tell Natasha that I have what belongs to her and I will tell her what she already knows.

If you ever do a free tour for both the US and the UK, we gotta hang out sometime.

Trust me.(CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT TRUST ME ON TNT! WATCH THE SHOW ONLINE AT www.tnt.tv!)

Being a young man at the age of 18, I can finally feel why you're really happy about the final year of the starting decade of the new millenium. Quoting the Pink Panther 2 out next Friday, let me bring you up to speed on what happened this month.

1. Barack Obama has become the 44th president of the USA.
2. Kate Winslet finally won 2 Golden Globe Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award, 2 for The Reader and 1 for Revolutionary Road. She's nominated for her hopeful rightful Academy Award for Best Actress and the movie? The Reader. Hope you can tune in. It's coming on ABC 2/22 at 7:00 pm and hosted, this year, by Hugh Jackman of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

So will you finally do your free tour (as promised) this year for those fans who lost money on their tickets in the UK, or have you cancelled that too?

Hi, I know you're tired of getting praises, but I can't help it. Your songs are my favorite, I really love them! You're not very famous here in the Philippines yet, but surely, once they hear you, they would love it. ^^

Hope you have a great, refreshing time. I can't tell you how much your music has meant to me; I've been playing your stuff constantly lately. (And I've gotta say, as a US resident, that it's a shame N.B. wasn't released here. I bought it early through Amazon, and I love it. "Pocketful" is good, too, mind you! But I *really* like the mix of songs on N.B.)

Thanks so much for all of your hard work.

I hope you've had a wonderful 2009 as well as I did!

My resolution, which will take all year, is to see you perform live! I have always wanted to see you on stage, and maybe get to know you a little.
