UK Tour Dates Cancelled

85
It is with the greatest of regret that Natasha Bedingfield has had to cancel her forthcoming UK tour. This is through no fault of Natasha herself, but due to her US Label insisting that she remains in US until further notice to promote the release of her album, Pocketful of Sunshine there. All tickets for the UK tour will be reimbursed. Please contact your ticket vendor for further details.

Natasha is very disappointed to be missing the opportunity to perform live in the UK, and has insisted that she make a short trip to the UK in the Spring for a number of intimate free acoustic gigs. More info will follow on this from Natasha herself direct.

If you hadn't have cancelled it, we would be going on friday wiv all of our mates and it was our main birthday present so it is so unfair that you cancelled it. We swapped our tickets for a high school musical one which will be so much better!

just found out seetickets - (who I booked pre sale with via this website. ) Keep £6.05 of the total cost when refunding, for postage and booking fee. Cost me £4.30 to post them back to them as well. Thanks for that!!

we are 13 years old and twins - it was our birthday present. you've ruined our dream of seeing our idol(well, before this happened) on stage.
you've let us down twice now. how could you!
jess still likes you! sophie does too but, you need to make it up to your original fans back here.
the least you could do is send some signed photos or albums.
our love always (not)

I'm sure you relaise by now how disappointed we are by now about the tickets and i'm not going to say anything about that. What I was going to ask is about the albums, I love your new singles from the american album but was disappointed to hear not only that it was only on an album in America but that for me to get it I had to buy the album with songs on from NB which I already have, I was wondering does this also mean American fans are missing out too. You are still one of my favourite artists and I am happy for your success in America, all I'm hoping is that you don't forget about us back home and that we will to see you soon wothout any problems!

I am absolutely gutted about this
the liverpool gig was the day after my birthday and was really looking forward to it.
i love your music to pieces and i saw you last time you was in liverpool.
I am not gunna be as mad as some people on here,
but thanks for ruining my sixteenth birthday.
i hope you will be able to repay me in the near future by reschedualing a gig in liverpool, after all its the capital of culture and im sure a lot of people would love a chance to play here this year.
Please keep us updated about the future tours, maybe this time you will stick to your promises and pick your heart over your head, instead of thinking about the money in 'the album you are promoting in america'.
Hope to see you soon,
from a very dedicated fan.

This is now a complete mess and completely beyond a joke. To be told less than 1 month before the gig that the show is cancelled because you have to promote your album in the US is just astonishing. If this really is beyond your control (somehow I doubt it), then you should sack your management team - how on earth could this happen....twice??? I BOOKED TICKETS AND SCHEDULED A HOLIDAY AROUND THIS GIG FOR MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY.......CHEER S NATASHA - HOPE YOU ENJOY IT, THE US DESERVE YOU. AS A MARK OF RESPECT TO ME, I WILL NO LONGER BUY YOUR RECORDS AND HAVE JUST BINNED YOUR PAST ALBUMS. REGRETTABLY YOUR MANNERS ARE WORSE THAN YOUR TALENT.

Not at all happy. The hassle I had trying to get the day off for the re-scheduled date, from work, only for this to happen. :(

Whilst you try and gain fans in the US-I think you're going to lose fans here in the UK.

Good luck to you in the future. But, what a kick in the teeth for the UK fanbase!

I got tickets for the UK tour for my daughter to see Natasha in leicester at a small venue. When she cancelled last year she was extremly dissapointed but was OK with it as a new date was given in March 08. Now we hear she is cancelling with no new date for leicester given. The venue in Leicester seats 2000 and is excellent unlike these new venues where it more about money than fans. No doubt she will reschedule but go to O2, Wembley where the money is. I cannot see another Leicester date in the pipeline. All I can say is shame on you Natasha!

ah well i think it got cancelled because when i went to get a refund they refused because they hadn't sold out, it's all a money making thing unfortuantely, as shown by Natasha, yes it may have been the record company's decision but Natasha could have voiced her opinion!! and as for the free gigs, like that'll ever happen. It's clear she's lost a fair few fans over this, but then again did she really have that many in the first place?

don't come back if America is far more important? how come your album couldn't be postponed?!!

i'm glad to get my money back, she's not that brilliant anyway!! Always got Sugababes & Avril Lavigne to look forward to!!

I am so unbelievably annoyed. I am the same as everybody else purchased half a dozen tickets to go with a group of friends for December gig at Sheffield. This was cancelled, re-scheduled to march, now this is cancelled. I think it is totally unfair on Natasha's English fans it appears that all of the money we have spent on her songs and merchandise to support her career are no longer important now she has 'hit it big' in the US. I would like to say where does she think she would be had we not helped her success, I dont think she would be living the life she is right now. I am a massive fan of her brother, i have been to see him 3 times now and not once has he ever cancelled and he has put on a fantastic show for his adoring fans. I think she should maybe take a leaf out of his book and also realise that America is a tactile market in one minute out the next, where will she be if her success takes a nose dive!!! I think some of her English fans may well doubt continuing her succes

I'm sorry but it's nothing more that an up yours to your UK fans. I think it's a P**S take.

I wont be buying any more CD's if this is how you treat us. I'll try and get as much money back as I can by selling the ones I already have on Ebay (If anyone will buy them after this farce).

Actually if it were the other way around I would have said the same thing except I'd be more sure of myself cause I would know, first hand, the real deal. It's like during football season where everyone gives up on the Eagles but as soon as they win a few games, "I knew they could do it!" There are fair wheather fans over here too and I would have the same thing to say to them. Because of my schedule I don't have tons of time to go see a concert. I'll probably buy Natasha's CD and NOT go to the concert (if there is one).

I still think that it sucks that this happened. There's this R&B singer, Shoshana Bean, and she's one of my favorite singers (as is Natasha). If she were to cancel her future tour(s) for her later fans across I'd be upset but I wouldn't give up on her. She'll still make great music and she has to come back sometime!

after finding out the tour is cancelled i am shocked, disgusted and have lost soo much respect for you and your music. i wasnt the biggest of fans, but i thought you were good and had talent. however, what is talent withough manners and respect for your fans??
if you need to promote yourself in the US then do it, but what abotu ur origonal fans here in the UK?? you colud have atleast posted a letter. i know other artists do, even if theyre just ill.
promoting youself in the US is just an auwfull excuse, and your making you 3rd album, surely you have some controll over youself as an artist and if not then as a person? i dotn believe the record label has pressured you.

anyway, what done is done. but my opinion of you ha definatley changed.

she is the same as us.. human. just coz shes famous dot mean she shudnt have manners!

fair enough if it was 1st time, but people have been waiting like 4 months for this and its cancelled again. i was so looking forward to it..

As a Huge Natasha bedingfield fan I'm really really upset and annoyed that the tour dates were canclled. Like a lot of other fans I bought tickets for last September and now to hear that none of the shows are going ahead is a mockery. I'm from Dublin and after the first gig was cancelled , then rescheduled myself and my friends thought it woud then be a safe bet to go to the gig in Manchester because (people have a habit of calling off gigs in Ireland) to see her. Now all we are left with are 4 void tickets, hotel and flights fees and a lot of upset and annoyed people. I hope that these private gigs etc manage to find their way to Ireland or to us as an apology, it's the least she/record company can do. Natasha you're a wonderful woman with a great voice so for the sake of all your UK and Ireland fans TELL your record company that thhis is where you started as I'm sure you know, people aren't that fickle as to made fools of over here.

It’s sound like you all want to go in war with Natasha – except from you who actually STILL love and support Nat, which I’m really thanks full for, cause it’s what she need AND deserves!!!, so thank you, and I’m glad that we can be strong together and show Natasha that she still have someone who she actually know is her REAL FANS, who always will be there for her!!!

Oh, and Mapoo, hey. I can tell you, Daniel Bedingfield, yes, he went off to USA, but I’ve read, that he actually working on a new album right now, so if you're a big fan, maybe there soon is something new from him, we hopes so…..

Look, I totally understand how sad and hurt you all feel, and how really disappointed you all are.
I feel the same way too, but do you really, and I mean REALLY want to let Natasha down and don’t want to be a fan of her anymore?......

Just skimming over this website, she has got time to go skiing, shopping, stalk celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Kevin Costner, Justin Timberlake etc but she hasn't got time to type one single personal line of apology to her UK fans for the tour cancellation ? Basically I see this as a huge ' Up yours' to her UK fans.

Caity you seem to change your mind in every post you have made here. Before she went to the U.S.A Natasha told us fans who were on her orginal website and forum she would never forget us. First time round the tour was postponed due to U.S commitments. Now SHE cancels the tour all together due to U.S commitments. To me that says SHE has forgetten the people who made her. I say She as im sure the record company wouldnt dump her if she said no I want to do the tour not Promo work. Oh and Caity its fine for you to call us Fair Weather fans as SHE isnt snubbing you for later fans is she?

What does not make sense to me in discovering that once again the uk tour is cancelled is that surely the reasons given ie usa commitments etc MUST have been known when tour was rescheduled so why wasnt the tour prevented from being rescheduled months ago?? why at last minute. ie her US label MUST have known ages ago!!

I saw Natasha perform at CES in Las Vegas. She was great. Her music is very personal and really hit home for me. I was probably the only nerd sitting in the crowd that was crying.
She was humble, genuine and I bet if you meet her somewhere she's just as "real." Don't give up on her, remember that just like employees and soldiers, sometimes you can't always do what you want to - and even when you do, you have to sacrifice it all. I do hope she gets to have her UK performances, there's nothing that compares to coming home.

caityb

wrote...

Lol! I spoke too soon. I went to amazon.com and compared the UK version of the CD and the US version and I learned a few things.

1. The CDs share about 6 songs then all the rest are different.
2. The UK version has 1-2 more tracks
3. The titles are different
4. According to one of the reviewers "NB" didn't do too well in the UK so I guess that's the reason the CDs only share about 6 songs in common. (and "Love Like This" peaked at #11 and now it's at #12 on the charts) That sucks. I still want to hear the other songs, though.

And I'm sorry if I sounded insensitive in prior posts. I know you're upset but this truly isn't a reason to give up on her. I guess if "Love Like This" was doing better she'd still be on tour in the UK and not focusing her efforts here. But on a lighter note, who's going to the free concerts?

caityb

wrote...

Woah...they cancelled twice? The first time was with the first CD? See, If they had just let the CDs out around the same time and made a UK/US tour, one right after the other or a few months apart...

*sigh*

But still. It is what it is. The fact of the matter is everyone who wants world wide success in this field comes to the US. Should they do it at the expence of their home fans? No. So far this is the only case I've heard of (even though it's probably not the only case ever) where the artist and the label did this. But w/e. Get a refund and don't be fair weather fans.

I dont for a minute pretend to know the inner workings of a record label but what would they have done had Natasha refused to cancel again on principal - dropped her from the label? I dont think so. Clearly shes doing so well over there that they want to maximise on that but im sorry this shouldnt be at the expense of a previously rescheduled tour with her homegrown fans. I am really disappointed and will seriously rethink getting tickets for the next tour, if there is one! I understand its not Natasha fault personally, but come on, youre not telling me the power of the artist herself is so low that she couldnt have sorted something out, its the label calling the shots based on revenue and she wouldnt be where she is without the fans so i think this is out of order.
