I met Coreen Bailey Rae last night, what a great person! Really sweet , and great to have someone to swap US promotion stories with. I Flew back home to perform at the launch of a new blackberry. The incredibly genius Mark Ronson was also present laying down some slick beats. I was trying to act really cool when I met him..... wonder if he could tell how badly I wanna work with him.
The band is presently rehearsing for the Justin Timberlake European tour which starts in Paris next week. I have never met him yet so I will keep you posted on what the real Justin is like. I'm sure he's a lot of fun. At least I hope he is, coz me and my band always love goofing and joking around on tour..... it helps to break the monotony of travel. This blog was written down really fast coz I just want to keep you lot in the loop on all that's going on. It's been a crazy two weeks which is why I have to apologise for not being on here very much. Since releasing the UK album I have been going all through different parts of Europe and releasing it there. Then I went to LA and filmed the video for my next single Soul Mate. Don't want to give anything away but I think it might just be my best yet. Wrote some more songs while I was out there.
Keeping the momentum going.
This is how last week went, just to give you an idea of how busy it's been.
- Filmed vid on fri in la
- Flew to frankfurt on sat and did a gig and interviews as soon as I got off the plane.
(This was a gig that had just under 100,000 people watching. Also met Kim Wilde at this event which was a happy coincidence, as when I got a number one pop song in the US I was told that no British female had achieved this since Wilde 19 years earlier.)
- The next day was a gig in Denmark. Wonderful chocolate there.. and the people are impossibly good looking.
-Early the next morning I left for the UK to do the blackberry gig a few hours after arriving.
Today is my day off, and trust me, I'm treasuring it like it is the finest gold. When I'm tired, I'm knackered! It's funny, I have a list of all the things I want to do on my day off, and then I'm just so tired that I end up sitting around. When I'm as busy at this all I long for is a day where I can be on my own and not talk to anyone or do anything according to schedule.... then when I finally get this anticipated day to myself, all I want to do is hang out with all my mates and do stuff. I guess it's that whole 'grass is always greener' thing. I think that on tour you build up momentum and then when a day off comes, it's like suddenly being suspended in this schedule-less vacuum. It can be somewhat disorientating like waking up and not knowing what country you are in or what time it is.
Anyway, here I am on a day off writing to you when I really should be chilling., thus adding to fuel to my statement that sometimes it takes hard work to rest. Today is one of those days. I have to keep slapping my wrist from doing something that is work.
I sent an email to my manager and he told me to go take a bath. So I shall go now and do that. Don't worry I promise I'm going to blog more often from now on.
I shall, I shall! Another thing on my list. Don't worry it is reasonably high up in importance on my list, and it is on there. And I will try to procrastinate less often on this one thing. but for now..... I'm gonna go rest
'the REST is still unwritten...' hahah!
