Just a comment trying to tell what your song Unwritten does to me. I first heard Unwritten around 3 years ago on the dutch radio, when visiting my schizophrenic former downstairs neighbour. He always claimed “they” were speaking to him via the radio.
Unwritten has the quality to crab your attention as soon as you hear it. It holds an energy that makes you stir within. Really good songs, to me at least, are the ones you like straight away but still grow on you as you discover the words.
Unwritten has the poetic and lyrical properties that can open the listener to self analysis. We all go trough stages in live in which we liberate our selves from the conditions of our family (puberty), friends, society.
Unwritten offers an opening to anyone who might feel trapped, entangled or simply unhappy with the current conditions. Moreover, it holds the energy to give you that push to break through. Today is a new day, all what has gone before is now past thence. A new day to approach differently, with a new view. Liberate your self, let the rain wash away what constrains you to open up to live.
In the end you and only you are the one that controls your life. Through your words, through your actions you can created the conditions of your life such as you want them to be. Open up to love even if there is little in your life to go around. Feel life’s energy. See, smell, sense it in the wind, the sun, trees and plants, animals and people. It is perfectly okay if you do not speak but instead take a moment within your self where you can find that inner peace.
Unwritten for me was one of those little pushes we all receive from the energy that flows through our universe. It helped me to take that “leap forwards”. I soon found out it wasn’t such a daring leap, just the start of a new chapter in my book of life.
So dear Natascha, thank you for a great performance and for grabbing the inspirational energy to write what was unwritten. It is a little cynical that my former neighbour Frans is perceived schizophrenic. He is just a lonely older man that can open him self to energies and ideas that come to all of us. He just has a problem translating them and few people to talk to, even less that are willing to truly listen looking beyond his society perceived condition.
By the way Frans was institutionalized a few months ago. It gets more hard for him to stay within the boundaries of what society deems acceptable crying out to be understood. He is doing well, has the weekends to him self again and is to be released in a few weeks. I’ll be sure to visit him.
Again many thanks, keep it up, be illuminated and shine to all out there that want to listen. I hold “Wild horses” very dear as well.
Love Anton
